We visit friends and family regularly in the U.S. and we both were considered Type 2 Diabetic before weight loss and starting a new eating plan. Not knowing any better and with HFCS being in just about everything it seems, we would have a heck of a time controlling blood sugar even for a week after coming back the numbers would be higher than normal.
That stuff should be labeled a poison as far as I'm concerned. Almost everything up here is made with sugar that comes from beets or cane sugar and it doesn't have the same lasting effects on blood sugar that HFCS does, not that we are consuming copious amounts any longer since the diet change but in comparison to HFCS and how it would keep blood sugar elevated much longer.
