First, does leaving an open container of baking soda in the fridge actually work to absorb odors?

Where in the refrigerator is the ideal spot to place the baking soda? Or does it matter? I placed an opened 1/2 small box of the stuff on a door shelf. Might there be a better or more effective location?

Baking Soda works. In the fridge. In a room. I'm mixing it with water and using it on my dirty short collars, too.

Other Solution: I have seen vinegar recommended for odors.

I use two of the arm and hammer fridge packs. One on the top shelf and one on the bottom. I also pull out anything not dated and try to clean the shelves with glass cleaner every couple of months to keep out odors.

Mom did it forever. Wife does it intermittently. Does it work? How would you know for sure? Arm & Hammer says it does. ;)

Maybe keeping things with odors in closed containers works better.

And it doesn't absorb odors, it neutralizes them according to the internet.

I use O3 generator in the fridge. Does a far better job.

It's called Scent Slammer in eBay listings.
