So do I have to change the plugs after I use amsoil power foam?

My wifes ford focus doesnt require a spark plug change for something like 100K miles. I was wondering if after running a can of amsoil power foam (like seafoam) thru, do the plugs need changed? Also, How should u run it thru? It says you shouldnt get it on rubber, plastic or painted surfaces, so that elimintates the PCV, brake booster application, and the intake is made of plastic, so I guess you cant use that, So do I just start the car, disconnect the air intake from the throttle body and just shoot it in the throttle body while its running? I didnt think the car would run if you take the intake off the throttle body because it eliminates the vacuum from the Mass airflow sensor, correct?
 
Don't believe their 100k claim on the spark plugs. My vehicles came with double platinum plugs and I change them every 60k, even then they are pretty badly worn. They say Canadian gas is harder on plugs so YMMV. Wouldn't hurt to check 1 or 2 occasionally. I wouldn't change them after using power foam unless you have a misfire afterwards.

I'm not sure what I would do because of that plastic intake. Maybe call up Amsoil tech on this one.

Some cars will run(poorly) with the MAF sensor disconnected, other will stall immediately. You could introduce the power foam through the MAF. The filiments should be cleaned occasionally anyways.
 
I wouldnt change either unless one is fouled. I mean if you run the stuff thru and then get a check engine light and one of the plugs is fouled, then change em, otherwise i wouldnt worry.
 
Out of curiosity how is the power foam applied, the only thing I have ever heard of mainly is seafoam, is the amsoil product as good as their others?
 
I've never had to change plugs after running Powerfoam through.
elwaylite--I find a vacuum line leading into the intake manifold. Start the (warm) engine, and let the vacuum pull the Powerfoam into the engine.
Has worked that way for me for many years.
 
I am wondering how I should use it? Do I just start the car and undo the air intake from the throttle body and spray it down that? or is the car going to die out from an erroneous MAS reading?

I have used Power Foam several times all with excellent results and noticeable results.

To keep it from stalling, I keep my hand on the throttle body "thing" that connects to the gas pedal and keep the engine running at about 2000RPM. I've only used power foam once in my truck and in my old F-150 before I got rid of it. Power foam is good stuff. For me, blue smoke coming from the exhaust is a usual for me but all my vehicles I have used it on really help cleaned out the engine,,,,,,AR
