Got the General Altimax Arctics (225/60/16, OEM size for the car @ $83/tires from TireRack) installed today ($14 mount/balance per tire at our usual tire rack recomm. installer)...

They're of course a bit louder than the Kumho KH16 a/s tires I had, but otherwise they feel fine..today was about 50F high temp. They feel a bit slower than the a/s tires I had, which is to be expected I guess...

Now for some snow, and to see how they do. Hopefully soon.

Same tires I just put on my Ranger. Haven't had any deep snow yet but I'm very impressed with the grip on slippery roads. Noise isn't bad for a winter tire, just the usual slight "whoosh" noise. You'll like them.

Do you guys get much snow?

Otherwise, nice. I've got an '91 SC patiently awaiting restoration and a 5-speed.

Sweet tires...I hope you get some snow soon to try them out. I've taken mine through everything, ice/slush/snow...and it performs well enough to give me confidence and more peace with winter driving...

well it does snow here, not a LOT, but we get ice storms to go with it very often.
earlier I just had to go to school which was just a 3 min drive, and if it was bad, I could've even walked there, so I never felt i "must" drive when it snowed. I was stranded several times not being able to get out into the unplowed road which leads to the plowed main hwy.

but NOW, I have a full time job, i pretty much MUST drive if it snows, and the commute is about 1 hr. That's why i thought it would be good to have a set of snows from now on for the RWD Tbird. Both wife and I have more peace of mind now, and that's worth it, I think.

Actually snow is supposed to head this way on Saturday, mixed with icy showers.

Nice tires. We have snow out the wazoo and all I have is some Bridgestone all season tires on our vehicles. But heck, maybe if we get another one of those 20" snows I might start thinking about some snow tires.

It's strange how you guys have gotten more snow down there than we have in Rhinelander. We can't be too far off though.

Same tires as on our A6. It's the second year we use it - very good tires and very good snow performance.

Next year I plan to trim the fleet, become a two car household and put these tires for the winter on my Z4.
