I have a Toro 210R single stage snow blower. I just replaced the paddles, fuel filter and spark plug. I am waiting for a new scraper bar to install.
I noticed while blowing that the blower wasn't throwing snow well and often clogged the chute. That is why I replaced the paddles.

I also read about using the non stick spray on the chute and auger housing to help snow not to stick and clog the chute. I bought some Ariens Snow Jet Spray and sprayed everything. So far I haven't tried it.

I was wondering if anyone has used the sprays and what your opinion was of how well they work.

Pam as a Spray is cheaper, when the Snow is done, get out there and blow the Snow.
Depending on when the Snow ends, this can be difficult.
With the Snow falling and adding up, but there is a layer of snow with some slushy ice because of the surface temps before the snow it is difficult.

My concern with Pam is that he would quickly wear out and be cleaned off by the snow. I only use Pam after using the snowblower to prevent rust between use. I think that some type of waxy coating maybe like an under body rust preventer might be optimal here because it should last longer. Just an idea.

How long are you doing the Snow blowing thing?

I tried WD-40 and Pam. Neither worked as well as the "real" spray. Not sure what real spray I used but it lasted longer and worked better than Pam.

In my 20+ years of using a snow blower I have never sprayed the chute for this purpose. I figured based on the title it was for the hinge mechanism. I guess my bad.

Just my $0.02

So I used the blower on 6" of snow yesterday. Man it worked good. The snow was thrown really far and not one clog. I will chalk it up to the new paddles and spray.

I've never seen the Ariens product before. I'm anxious to hear you report back, on how well it works.

I have been using the DuPont Snow & Ice for 10+ years now, after buying several cans on an end of season sale. I've also tried cooking spray, such as Pam. Both really work well. It's amazing how much difference they make, in keeping snow from building up in the chute. I even spray it on the auger blades and impeller.

The DuPont product seems to last a lot longer than the cooking spray. For me, it is worth the extra cost.

I found a snow blower forum where both the DuPont and Ariens products are discussed. There didn't seem to be any preference of one over the other, except price, with the DuPont typically available for less than the Ariens product.
