Smoking a cigarette while shoveling 10" of snow.

Who care whether he smokes?

I think it's funny that he's trying to do an aerobic activity while huffing oxygen-depleted smoke that obviously prevents his body from actually intaking oxygen.

I assumed that was the point of the observation, not an anti-smoking story.

"Holier than thou" is about as stupid as you can get, though.

I'd walk over there with a six pack and introduce myself, talk about how much shoveling sucks, and drink a few beers.

Another downfall of society; we're becoming recluse.

As if shoveling snow isn't strenuous enough. And he's tried it not once, but twice now. And he never gets far... I wonder why.

My uncle used to shovel snow with a Lucky in his mouth all the time. My old neighbor would smoke a cigar while he shoveled. What's the problem?

....or 'programs' that let them reproduce in large numbers....

I dont mean to pick on anyone but isnt it the truth that we are quick to judge/ridicule etc?

In recent years of my life, when I see that I'm ready to do that, I use that same energy to ask MYSELF a question: What am I?

Why do this? We do not understand ourselves, and if we put some energy into finding out, ie, asking a question to then, over time, see the truth of what we are, EVERYTHING changes. We become an observer instead of the judge etc....

Our lack of understanding the 'self' is a massive proportion of the mess we are in.

You might think im crazy, but try it. We gotta get deeper!

While I certainly don't agree with smoking, I find it rather unsettling that your days' activities involve peering through your curtains and covertly reporting your neighbors activities to the Internet.

When I was in the Air National Guard, our shop chief smoked during the annual walk/run PT test.

For those branding it "stupid" may not be aware of a person's situation; while creating long term health issues, smoking does mitigate short term issues for a lot of people that are unrelated to physiological dependence.

I once saw a rare video of Lenny Dawson smoking a cigarette. This was taken during the pregame or halftime of a superbowl.....where he was the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs.

I don't know about the rest of you all, but I am getting darn tired of other people telling me how I have to live every aspect of my life. No I don't smoke.

Again, I don't think the point of this thread was a problem with people smoking.

Of course no one reads any of the original posts, they just see something they disagree with and have to say something, even if it has nothing to do with the topic.

I really wouldn't use the term "we as a people." I personally will never conform to the social norm. Don't become a sheep. The wolves will eat you.

Statistically, an American sheep is 420,000 times more likely to be eaten by people than by wolves (2010 figures, US Dept of Ag).
