Greetings: Will be upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit in the next 6-12 months and am hoping that I will be able to find a card reader for my Olympus C-3000 Zoom digital camera. Olympus America has advised me that this camera will not be supported so my only option is a reader.

Been shopping a few brands that spec Smart Media in 64-bit versions. "SIIG" for instance has one for SM but their CS told me that they don't know if it will work for my type. Does anyone have an older 3V (3.3V) SmartMedia memory application who knows of a reader that will definitely work on these cards?

Maybe this is not the right way to say it: smart media is already obsoleted and a replacement digital camera that takes any other format is going to be cheaper than a 64 bit card reader. You can get a CF / SD / MS camera that will last you years and are way better in quality.

In the worst case, there are adapter that convert it as a CF, PCMCIA, or floppy disk that you can use to read the content out, but the adapter may be more expensive than a used 4 Megapixel camera that accept any of the 3 media I mentioned.

Or you can keep an old hard drive around and dual boot it with windows 98/2000 to load the content with your older Smart Media card. That'll be the cheapest but most tedious.
