An SM oil can meet SL requirements....so your question. It's too big.

Older oils and HDEO are SL. Newer oils are SM. SM is close enough to SL to cover just about any engine that needs SL, but cars specc'd for SH/SJ may need additives not blended into SM. For those, you have supplements, or you can buy Legacy Brands from Bill, who's stash is roughly 5000 quarts of all varieties dating back to 1980.

you kinda explained it good enough for me.
I can always look at the labels and see whats SM and whats SL ,right? Is there a list on the board with brand names of each?
