Hello again y'all. My mom has a 2007 Mustang with the 4.0L V6 and 29,000 miles on it. Well, since our truck has been acting up we can't get any of the cars in the garage due to where the truck is sitting. So we've been parking the mustang in the driveway. Well, ever since then, she's complained (she knows a bit about cars, so its not unfounded) that it's been running worse then usual. Well, today we went out, and it is indeed vibrating more at idle, and the idle speed hops up and down a little bit in park. She says she thinks its because it's been getting colder. Well, I dunno about that. It does it even after its warmed up. It has whatever dino oil and filter jiffy lube put on it when she took it to them ~ 1800 miles ago.

Has it been really damp there-possible spark loss through a bad coil pack or coil? I've heard that the older ones were trouble prone-or possibly bad gas? I can't see how oil could cause rough/erratic idle.

This happens to my sierra if i purchase bad gas. Dump a cleaniner in your tank or get some good chevron gas in there. Also, you can try to change your fuel filter if possible. [censored], toss a new PCV valve in there as well since its only like 5 dollars at a dealer ship. You can also take a look at the PCV hose and make sure there are no holes or if it came loose.

I would wonder if she picked up gas right about the time she lost he garage space as well. And come on, Jiffy Lube? You should have already taken over family oil change duties by now! :P

Hardy har har. :) Anyway, I would love to change the oil in them, but I was out of town in ohio at the time, and it was due before they drove 1000 miles to get us and back. I'm going to try to be the one doing the changes on our truck, my car and the mustang in the future. She probably won't trust me to do it though, it's her new baby. I'm not even allowed in the driver seat with the ignition on. Who knows, though?
