This is the first time that I’ve noticed this. Does anyone have any experience with Dinocare? I’m assuming it’s a proprietary detergent package that is mixed in.

I have filled up there many times. I did notice my truck seemed to regen more with their diesel; but, I can’t say for certain the fuel was the reason. It was summer time when I was filling up there and the truck often regens more in the warmer months compared to fall/winter. I still get gas there though.

Dinocare is to Sinclair as v-power to shell and stp to marathon. all good fuel.

It’s all proprietary. At least they won’t say. It could be something made just for Sinclair or it could be an off the shelf additive that meets certain requirements. Either way, I think a lot of consumers get really worked up over unimportant differences.

But the company is now HF Sinclair. And their stock symbol.

they actually mention what company's additives they use on there website somewhere.

Where's that? I had a look and there's really nothing other than they have their own name brand. I don't think they develop their own chemicals any more, but they could buy it from anyone. Lubrizol, BASF, Afton are the big ones. Heck - Chevron Oronite sells to Chevron's competitors.

I do remember seeing a regional convenience store chain that listed several Afton safety data sheets on its website.

OK. It was kind of buried in the FAQ which I didn't check.

That's a bit unusual as most companies consider their additive proprietary even if it's just a ready-made additive package. They mention a specific additive at Sinclair terminals. But no description for fuel at any other terminals. I don't believe they have any fuel terminals on the west coast, so it could be anything. I would think that with their Top Tier licensing, the requirement is that it be a Top Tier certified additive in a minimum specified concentration that's been tested for that additive.
