Please give some suggestions on what oil filters you would use for the truck. Part number with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you went back to the dealer for an oil change you would get whatever ACDELCO filter the owner's manual specifies. It isn't a sexy or tortuously analytical choice but as the other brands get bought and sold with production shifted around to different places at least GM has a vested interest in maintaining the QC on these.

Not rocket surgery. Look in the owners manual for the AC Delco part number it calls out. Good chance even Walmart will carry it.

Here’s what RA carries. I’d probably go with the AC Delco.

I'm using STP Extended Life S45008XL to very good results.

The build quality is excellent, just as good as the AC Delco Gold and the Premium Guard.

Any filter that's efficiency is 99+ percent at 20 microns.
This is becoming more difficult for me to determine by the day.

Fram has leaky leaf springs. Some companies don’t say which testing method was used to rate their filters, and which filters were used for that testing. Also, the rate at which not only parts are swapped in/out of filters, but companies are bought and sold and filter designs quietly changed, seems to be a more frequent occurrence than not.

100% a GM dealer parts counter filter on a truck that new under warranty. Even better to have them do the oil change. It stays on the records. First thing I do on a used advertised vehicle is look at the carfax. I’m sure I am not the only one.

IDK I think the PF66 is kind of a garbage filter. And why would you buy it at a GM dealer anyway, online way cheaper?

I don't like GM factory filters. Don't like the rubber ADV, don't like the e-core, don't like the filter efficiency.

For this particular application (PF66) I like the STP s45008xl best.

Do not hold back, tell us how you really feel about them.

I just did. What's your point? Ford has great factory filters as does Toyota. GM not so much.

I did my research and I found a commonly available filter with a decently thick can, a silicone adv, a metal core, and synthetic filter material with 99% efficiency at 20 micron. I believe it's manufactured by Premium Guard. The PF66 is Champ/Fram I'm not a fan.

E-cores are fine. As a matter of fact-since most owners have somebody else change their oil-I am going to go out on a limb here and say there are probably more e-cores in service than any others.
And your motor isn't going to blow up with a SLIGHTLY LESS EFFICIENT filter.

ACDelco Gold UPF66R, thicker can & base plate. I buy them from Rock Auto and Amazon. On dealer oil changes I tell them use my supplied filter. They credit me $10, which is more than I paid for it.
