Does anyone think this bottle of oil is familiar. I think it's a rebranded auto oil. This is for a commercial shredder. I am sick of special ordering this stuff and started using 10w30.

I thought those were usually vegetable oil based. Specifically. Canola Oil... but I've never seen that fancy bottle before.

Supposedly its non-stick and anything else will gum up the cutters. Maybe some sort of silicone blend?

The sample bottle that came with my paper shredder looked like cooking oil. I refilled it with cooking oil. I think they discourage mineral oils due to possibility of spontaneous combustion like with oily rags.

I'm guessing that castor oil would be ideal? They probably want something that is compost-able, or recyclable, too.

As already mentioned, the shredder oil won’t gum up and collect dust. Anything else will.
