Show us your listening room.

Mine is my rather small office but it works fine
Pablo, AB Vannoy ham house is still in business after 80 plus years in business. I get mine at the Ashe county cheese factory. West Jefferson, N.C. Is one of the coolest little mountain towns in N.C.

I prepared a lot of dishes with that ham. Very different. For folks on the left coast such a dry cured fermented salt ham - this is not your spiral cut honey ham nor is it Iberico or prosciutto.

Looks for @SumGuy pictures. Not there. Hmmmmmmmm.........
It's a work in progress. Since I bought my gear (new) 25 years ago, I've been wanting to put it to serious use, but life and stuff got in the way.

- Denon AVR3300 receiver (bought a used AVR4800 a few years ago for cheap cheap)
- Denon DCM 5000 (100 disk dual player CD player, I understand radio stations used these)
- Pioneer Elite DV47A DVD player ($1400 in 2001, doesn't play blue ray! but does play SACD)
- Paradigm Studio 100 V2 (front speakers)
- Paradigm Studio 40 V2 (rear speakers)
- Akai GX-A5X cassette deck (dolby b, c and dBX)
- no subwoofer
- no turntable (never really had a record collection)
- Sony 36 inch flatscreen tube TV (in '99 or '00 these things cost $3300)

Have not really bought a dedicated large flatscreen TV since the Sony. Nothing worth watching has come out in the last 25 years IMO.

Little late to the party. Have to take some pictures of speakers and room.

Current office setup where I probably listen to music the most, although mostly on low volume while working.

Home theater setup in the basement, still work in progress. Wife sponsored the TV. I just got those two SVS subs last week. May need to upgrade the center channel next...

Also need to set up something in the garage once we finish unpacking and getting rid of some junk.

You always take such great photos! Not only that, but you have a real eye for style too.

I loaded my turntable (Fisher?), some Mordaunt-Short bookshelf speakers and a Panasonic DVD/CD 5-disc changer into my vehicle; off to Value Village! :(

I just have to close my eyes now, to see my listening room.

I know the feeling. When I unloaded my storage unit, I realized I had so much audio gear that I just couldn't find use for in the new house, so I had to part with it. I got rid of nice HK 3490 receiver, AudioSource amp, Jamo speakers, KEF speakers, Polk, Mission, DCM, Velodyne sub, etc for next to nothing. It was painful, but it had to be done. Luckily, I still have some gear left.

Garage:
2 DIY MTMs using 5” parts express sale buys and danish silk dome tweeters, and an DIY 8” front port sub tuned to F3 40hz. Until recently it was the best room in the house. I made the MTMs years ago and they were not my favorite project, but they sounded so good they’ve made it through 2 decades of moves, divorce, remarriage… they look beat up but they were my first attempt at indoor (not PA) speakers and came out - far better than they look. Best I had until 2 months ago, below happened.

Indoors:
2 RCF AYRA-8 studio monitors. They are flabby and harsh out of the box. Fed by XLR under the floor, they enjoy a 31band digital Berhinger EQ pulled out from a past life to knock off the highs and lows and tame two room nodes. Source is a blafili b3 Bluetooth receiver and a spare motu m4 4x4 used just as a pass-through for the volume knob. Yes, you can hear all the crummy artifacts in sources that aren’t well mixed, well sourced, or otherwise imperfect, and BT has its limitations too, but - it’s quite nice after some tuning.

Yes, thats a brake rotor serving as the stand base.

I love the fact that your audio equipment takes president over your TV, which is relatively small by modern standards (like mine).

My TV is all of 42", and 15 years old now. Ha ha. My audio equipment is way better; got some nice Kplisch speakers, but my receiver is an old Yamaha.

A power surge took out my subwoofer amp earlier in the year, so I bought a new, better, sub, and waited for the electric company to reimburse me for a new amp. Eventually, they paid off, but in the mean time, I was able to break out the soldering iron, and fix the old one! Pure luck in that regard. Anyway, I've sold off the amps, and trying to sell the old 12" subwoofer speaker, which is heavy as heck, and expensive to ship.

Have to admit, though, most of my listening these days comes though a nice DAC/Amp and headphones. It's hard to beat the fidelity of a good set of headphones.

TV is a very old 42” Panasonic plasma that has a superb picture despite its age.

Just like my Haflers, old doesn’t mean bad! I really enjoy all forms of audio reproduction. Each is unique! The tactile sensation of vinyl along with its warmth. I even enjoy the occasional pop or crackle (as long as it’s only very occasional). Many of my albums are dead quiet. CDs give ease of use and perusing them takes me down memory lane. Streaming is incredible. Using my WiiM with the app, I am able to search for, and listen to an endless supply of new, and old, music I may have overlooked.

All of these sources sound amazing played through 40 year old amplification and speakers. I have a very simple way of evaluating my, or any other, sound system. The speakers disappear and all I hear is a wide and deep sound stage where instruments and vocals can be localized.

I'm waiting for one of you to show the listening room decked out in Magnepan speakers. Righteous man.....

I used to have a nice little set up. I'm mostly deaf now (Military retired.) My hearing aids are my speakers streamed from my work iPhone. Meh.

Late again…
Always changing system. Room treatments are acoustical wall carpet, double 5/8 drywall, and wool rock insulation in ceiling and cavities. Speakers are Altec Model 14 and Klipsch LaScala’s today. Custom ROK turntable, California Audio Labs CD player and DAC, and (gasp!) a Fosi V3 amp. Had to see about all the Class D hype.
