As I have discussed in previous posts, I decided to uncrate and set up a listening room (my basement/work out area). May not be ideal, but it works and keeps my wife happy.

Was quite satisfied with my turntable, amp and preamp. Upgraded to the 21st century with the WiiM Pro Plus streamer, but despite not really needing it, I decided to add a CD player. I certainly could listen to any album via Amazon Music with the WiiM, but I have SO MANY CD which are essentially worthless that I decided to go for it. I had a CD player in the past, but can't find it for the life of me.

Went with a S.M.S.L. player. PD 150. Inexpensive but the transport mechanism and DAC are rated very highly. Direct input via optical cable to the WiiM which has an even higher rated DAC. Have access to vinyl, CD and streaming. Very happy. Hopefully no more purchases!

Very nice!! I wish my office was larger.

I still like my Yamaha player and DAC!

What do you use the dbx with? I had one many moons ago. Like 35-40+ years. I thought it was kinda worthless, but I had a Kenwood receiver that somehow I thought would be cool and it was junk sounding. I got rid of everything around 1990 or late 80's. Dropped all stereo stuff like a bad habit, wish I kept my Dual turntable though.

I use the DBX 228 expansion for encoded records I have. Used it to improve dynamic range and decrease noise on cassette tapes. That’s the one audio source I won’t be adding! Took a while to tweak the gain and find the appropriate setting, but it makes a difference. I have also used it judiciously on non-encoded albums. Works well for some but not all.

I had like 10 dbx records (no comment) I thought I got rid of them when I sold the dbx unit. I found a straggler when I unpacked my LP collection. It goes in the heap to trade/swap at the record store in Bellingham.

SIDE BAR: I am absolutely missing some LPs. I have NO IDEA where they went. I am fairly confident I did not chuck any records. ALL my BOC records as one example. Deep purple? Gone. Some but not all Steely Dan. Gone. We did have a moving company for most of my corporate moves over the years. Kinda pissed but.............No crying in stereo!!
