Well, I got out a Nat Geog Atlas, got to a map that had North America on it.
With measuring tape end (zero) on N Pole and through Winnipeg and Ft Worth, WPG is at 11.5 inches and Ft Worth is at 16. That's 5.5" at 240 miles to the inch. 1320 miles.
WPG is quite close to the longditudinal centre (CDN spelling of "center"
of Canada, marked by the town of Landmark. Ft Worth is pretty close to the median of East Coast / West coast. I know a pilot wouldn't just take off from WPG, set autopilot for due south, have a nap and be over Ft Worth when the clock radio went off...I know that it isn't quite that simple but given the above, it's as close as one can hope for, and pilots can fine-tune me if they have the time & inclination.
BTW / FWIW we are 3.5" N of Wichita on the same line, and 19.75" N of Mexico City. Again, on that map (opened up it's perhaps 2.5' X 2.5') it's 240 miles to the inch.
PS: Hearing no requests for snow, the cost just quadrupled. I'd have to really scrounge for more than 1/4 of a sq ft of it, Sat 24th has hi of about 70 F....Unless I cheated and went to an indoor rink and hung around waiting for Zamboni time
