I took a look at a few articles on oil contamination and although road salt is listed as a possible source of Sodium in a used oil analysis, it is not regarded as a cause for real concern because of chemical interactions.
The real horror story in oil contamination terms is Glycol and other anti freeze base fluids as they cause 10 times the damage that water does, directly trashing the detergents and dispersant additives. Once they fail the carbon in suspension starts to form sludge. Fuel contamination can be bad news, but most of it evapourates off if you do a longish run to heat the oil up.
I wonder if salt crystals get mixed up with fine Silicon crystals in road salt, as that might mean that the concern over road salt relates to what is mixed with it, as fine Silica crystals turn oil into an abrasive fluid. The recommended max Silicon number for a used oil analysis is often only 25ppm.
