I have 2 new cars, both had oil changes at the dealer at 3700 miles. I want to run 5K intervals on my oil changes. Here's what I was thinking:
1. Change oil at 7K. Change again at 10K. Go 5K intervals from then on.
2. Wait till 10K, change oil, then go 5K intervals from then on.
Cars were both serviced at dealer with Dealer bulk 5-20 and Genuine Hyundai filter. Service intervals are 3750 Severe, and 7500 Normal. My commutes consist of about 85% highway, 15% City. My main concern is running the oil for that longer interval until I get back on my 5K tracks. Does anyone see a problem with this or am I too paranoid going that far?
