As far as I know mechtech2, it is still that potent. Buster and I have both called them and talked to the tech guy (whose name slips by me right now), and according to him, they will be coming out with SM rated oils in the future, most likely 2008. As for now, the formulations are still as potent as ever. My last batch stilled smelled like potent rocket fuel and was darker in color due to all of the additives.

I know that I shouldn't need it, or run it in my Honda, but I do anyway, 'cause I drive it like a rocket, have frequent short trips (thanks to the wife and kid), and enjoy the bouquet of Maxima products...

You mean passenger car oil isn't the same oil that is used in NASCAR and other forms of racing? I should trust an oil brand simply because of a sticker on my favorite drivers car?

Oh ye of little faith. Of course the oil you use for your car is the same as the racing oil used in the cars with pretty stickers. Next thing you'll be telling us that the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, Bigfoot, and the Loch Ness Monster are not real. Or ... that (big laugh) we landed a man on the moon in the 70's.

Mazda recommends 5W-30 oil for both the US Mazdaspeed3 and its European twin the Mazda3 MPS.
