Good Evening:

I have a 2013 G37 /w the 3.7 Liter VQ37VHR

Current oil is Mobile 1 5w-30 API-SN installed March 21, 2020

Millage on oil is about 3,000 with about 78,027 on the vehicle.

Normally, I change the oil every 3,750, but I have never driven only 3,000 in a year. What are your thoughts running it to 78,750 or just under 750 miles even if it takes a few more months.

BITOG's answer is always to get that Mobile stuff out and the good stuff in ASAP. It's oil therapy :)

You won't have any problems running it out to your normal OCI of 3750. But I personally would change it to Mobil (notice the absence of "e") 1 0W40.
Nissan/Infiniti V6 engines seem to favor the M1 0W40 oils, based on hundreds of UOAs posted on BITOG and other forums. I got a VQ35DE and noticed an improvement in valve train and timing chain noise going from a 5W30 to 0W40. Also the oil consumption is less on 0W40. And M1 0W40 helps to extend the life of those long timing chains by reducing the wear compared to 5W30.
200k miles and counting on our 2008 Infiniti M35. Hello from Charlotte, NC.

What is proper Mobil 1? Thankfully, I have no consumption.

It is Mobil 1 API-SN. I don't have API SN-Plus or the new API SP. I am not running High-Millage, Extended Protection, or Annual Protection at the moment.

In stock I have some all in 5w-30 API-SN: M1 (1 bottle), M1 EP (2 bottles), M1 AP (1 bottles).

Honestly, the engine sounds good and quiet on 5w-30, so I don't think I would jump to 0w-40, but I believe it works well.

I don’t think another few months or several hundred miles will do any difference. What’s the filter tho? Might wanna change it sooner if it’s an inexpensive one

What oil and oci does your owner's manual recommend? Just curious and not that I follow my owner's manual ...
At least it gives you/us a baseline to work with.

Change it when it gets to 5K miles. Just curious a friend wants to know do you change it or does the Oil Store or the Stealership do it?

Why does it have only 3k in a year … dozens of short trips or more like a weekend car ?
If it’s a 2020 one off (work from home) reason … change it for the “new normal” ahead.
And stock up … motor oil might get banned in 2023 😷
