Indeed, change it out! And the trip(1500-2000 miles) will do the whole car good!

Warranty not considered and you should. With the oil I use I have made several trips up to 2000K+ on oil that had 7-8K on it. Been doing that you many years. I do 10K OCIs and trip miles are no more harder on the oil than local driving. Maybe less.

If you have to ask the question, this means it is on your mind and in the end, I would suggest that you be more prepared then not and change it early. I know you say your have the exact mileage for your trip but what if you have to extend it or etc..... Yes, oils can go to 10k+ if you choose the right one and have the right driving conditions but those unknowns tend to pop up from time to time and this is why I say it is better to be more prepared then just skimping by.

As long as I'm allowed to have an opinion, I would've changed
the oil twice already with the amount of time you've got on it.

I can't believe you let your oil go for over 5800 miles on the present oil change . Change it NOW , it may be too late though ...

Ford recommends 7,500 mile OCI on the Focus, and most of their vehicles today. On a syn oil I have no problem running that long. Even on a syn blend, which is what I'm going to be running next.
