Should filters be better packaged?

That`s exactly how I do it too. I love the fact that the Nissan oem`s come shrinkwrapped.

I too am concerned about foreign material entering my filters (especially oil filters).

To address this concern I always visually inspect new filters then place them with the receipt inside a tied up plastic bag for shelf storage.

Maybe overkill, it buys peace of mind for me.
