Hi Guys
I common discussion that pops up in my car forums is that doing a 5,000km OCI (~3k miles) is better for your car.
I would assume this depends on the oil being used and the type of car use i.e. NA/Turbo-High performance.
I have been using Redline in my Nissan Skyline which runs about 600hp at the rear wheels and out of habbit I run it in my NA 2.0 FTO also and strted doing used oil analysis...however I havn't got enough results to show anything.
If you were using a Group IV+ such as M1/Redline/Motul 300V/GC/RP in a NA daily driven car I would assume a longer OCI would be easily possible (without needing UOA proof). I would be expecting 10,000+ kms (~6000miles) esp. in a climate like Australia which sees temps of 10-40 degrees C as its extreemes.
I guess its a difficult answer as all cars/applications and oils are different.
