Shop charge for fluid exchange: I supply ATF......

What should a shop charge for a transmission fluid exchange if I supply the fluid?

I will do a pan drop, filter change, and refill, then take truck to shop for the fluid exchange. 4l60e trans...

what do machines hold to exchange fluid? 14-20 qts?

my prices (for a full size truck like yours)for fluid exchange only (no filter/gasket change) is $120 i allow $70 for fluid so at my shop i'd charge $50, can't speak for others but in my area i'm the lowest price for such a service.

Depends on what they charge for labor. Usually 70 bucks or so...


I've got the Dex VI for the Cobalt ready to go. I've just got to decide where to go. (I'm thinking my local shop, even though they are a few bucks more).

I supplied the ATF for my cav,and it ran around 70 bucks...

If you can do a pan drop and refill, you can no doubt do a cooler line exchange/flush. It's not difficult at all.

How much do you charge for a synthetic fluid exchange?. And those machines hold about 15 qts. My shop charges 99.95 for dex3 flush so yea about 50 or 60 bucks labor. The amount the you spent on the fluid and labor charges adds up to the same basically

i charge the same in most cases unless the fluid is ungodly expensive, i get most syn. trans fluids for $4 a quart (castrol) through my wholesale dist. passenger cars i charge $99.95 but fullsize trucks typically take more fluid hence the extra $20.

About one hour laber charge-so $60-$100.

+1 Even I can do cooler line exchanges, so that's saying something.

Probably 2/3 to 1 hour labor.

At $120/hr, you're looking at $80 to $120. That's if you can find a shop that will use customer supplied parts.
