Wondering a good time to have these done. Van has 110,00 on it and I'm trying to drive it to the max and take care of it. Maybe new paint soon. Should I do the shocks? I know there is no set limit to when they wear out but I do not want something rusting through and breaking in the middle of nowhere. Also I noticed the leaf springs are pretty rusty. I tried to find new ones but it seems no one sells leaf springs for an 02 villager new? =/

I wouldn't expect to have to replace the springs on a car that young - normally they are fine unless the vehical is sagging. surface rust is not indicator of condition. shocks, as long as they are not leaking and still control bounce, are fine. altho with 100k on them its probably time. altho on my jeep they were better at 100k than the replacements.....

Springs can still wear out, which is why ride quality suffers as a car gets older.
I replaced the struts in my Saturn with KYB units and the ride is still so-so, and I think the car would ride a lot better if I had replaced the springs.

Spring shops make up the springs as needed.
Check your tire pressure, then measure from the ground to the e top of the wheel well at each corner.
The fronts and the rears should match their respective side.
I doubt you need springs, but this is a good quick check for a bad one.
Shocks /struts? Not a bad idea, especially if you see a leaker.
You can start looking for sales now.

take any car, and change the factory rubber bushings to delrin or solid aluminum and tell me how the ride quality changes.
