Shell is offering an additional $0.22 off per gallon when #22 car Joey Logano is racing in NASCAR on Sundays. I signed up for the promotion, which is active through 11/2026. I've only hit the station twice on race day, but in both cases I did not receive the promotion price.
First time, I sent a screenshot of the receipt and activated promotion on my app that day. I heard nothing, so the following Monday I called Shell/Fuel Rewards to check on the ticket number. The support person, foreign, took about 30 min and came back to tell me it had been 7 days and there was nothing she could do. I had her send me upstream where I had a slightly heated argument, asking them to show me the document that said if they sit on a ticket for 7 days I'm not due the promotion. The manager begrudgingly gave me $0.22 + my platinum promotion ($0.10) on my next fill-up.
Fast forward a month or so and it happens again. This time I call in on the Tuesday after that Sunday and provide all the information. I call back Wednesday, no decision has been made yet, and Thursday, they tell me a decision is made and I'll receive the promotion price in 3 to 5 business days. "Great!" I exclaimed, "I call you back on Wednesday.". 2 hours later I had the promotion on my Shell app.
Is anyone else running into this issue with Shell? I think it became very popular when gas prices went up and Shell is trying to limit the payouts.
