That is because they want to sell the higher priced Synthetic 4T that has a very very similar additive package. Ive used both in my wet clutch Triumph and never had an issue. Really cannot tell the difference in my bike.
Look at a VR1 VOA, it contains nothing that is unfriendly to wet clutches.
