Seecamp and NAA .32 and .380

I routinely carry a North American Arms 22 Mag Revolver. The The North American 22 Mag has served me well.

I also carry a Kal-Tec PF-9 9MM. Very light carry gun and you can use a limited diet of +P for self defense.

Our concealed carry permits are good in most states now + I would much rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Seems for some unknown reason that in states that do not allow concealed carry that for some reason the "bad guys" carry theirs anyway?

NAA is a Utah company!

I've shot a friends semi-auto Guardian .32 NAA. Interesting weapon but hard to find ammo and even trying to re-load it is difficult.

Their pistols are "interesting". Never got into something that to reload you take the cylinder off.

But it is a Utah company!

They (NAA) makes two .32 pistols. The regular .32 ACP and their .32 NAA. I think the only company that makes ammo for this gun is Cor-Bon. They even say if you have trouble finding ammo you can order directly from them.

SrDriver, I have one of their little 22 Mag Revolvers. I use snake shot in it for shooting mice. And I know what you mean about states that do not have concealed carry as WI does not. We almost had it voted in two years ago but our wonderful governor vetoed the bill.

I have a NAA Guardian in 32acp and a Kel-Tec in .380. To me the NAA is miserable to shoot, it is fairly reliable, but it is hard to hold on too and the trigger hurts my finger. The Kel-Tec on the other hand is very plesant to shoot and is 100% reliable. So the Kel-Tec is way lighter, more reliable, more plesant to shoot and more powerful.. Not saying the NAA isn't a good gun for what it is. The Kel-Tec is def my preference though.

Johnny I am from Southeastern Wisconsin. My father was deputized as an auxiliary police officer and got around the law that way as I remember.

Weather - high taxes - cost of living is the reason we retired here in Alabama. Property taxes are a fraction of what you pay there.

The reason I went with the 9MM over the .380 is that I had a lot of 9MM ammo on hand.

Kal-Tec also as a .380. Both guns are extremity light.

Agreed. My NAA has been back to factory 3 times, and still has never been right. It is uncomfortable to shoot, which is fine because it's a pocket gun and not designed for extended range sessions. But it also has never been particularly reliable and after having the NAA custom shop perform the custom carry package and night site install, the sights shoot loose and fly off after about 2 mags.

I definitely recommend the Seecamp over the mini (it's a Connecticut company, made 8 miles from my house). Now the mini revolvers, OTOH, I have 3 and love them.

The Seecamp is the better choice, in my opinion. I've never heard of anyone being anything other than very happy with their purchase. I've handled both at gun shows quite extensively, and I have to say the Seekamp is a much better finished gun.

Big difference in the MSRP of these two brands.

SEECAMP:

.32 ACP = $525.00 | .380 ACP = $795.00

NAA:

.32 ACP = $402.00 | .380 ACP = $449.00

Look into the Ruger LCP for around $300. I've got about 1000 rounds in mine and while its not SR9C or a S&W M&P 9C for accuracy (its a 25ft or shorter range gun) its reliable and small.

Shoot one before buying (I recommend this highly with ANY gun) since returns are next to impossible.

I carried a NAA Guardian .32 ACP for about 4 years until switching to a Ruger LCP .380 ACP earlier this year. I have never shot or handled a Seecamp. I like the Guardian and it carried well in a pants pocket. It is a very solid pistol and heavy for the small size. The recoil was more than the Ruger LCP .380 even though the LCP is lighter. After 50 rounds with the Guardian the palm of my hand was sore because the butt of the gun stops there. The LCP doesn't leave my hand sore, but it is a slightly bigger gun.

The standard sights on the Guardian are very small, but they are better than the LCP. The Seecamp doesn't have any sights at all. That is something to consider if you will have to qualify with the Seecamp for a department qualification or CHL course.

My Guardian .32 ACP didn't like Sellier & Bellot FMJ ammunition and it would keyhole consistently even at 5 yards. Federal Hydra-Shok did not keyhole and was reliable. .32 ACP ammo is easier to find than .380 ACP right now, but .380 can be found without too much difficulty, especially if you order it online.

Size goes to the .32 ACP as is it smaller than the .380 ACP in both the Guardian and the Seecamp. It is a trade-off between size and power between the .32 and .380.

Have handled a Seecamp but have never shot one. As I recall, they are only supposed to use Winchester Silvertip ammo. This a very small gun and many report not getting a good grip on one.

Any reason not to go with a MP9 Kahr?
