This lubricant has been discontinued from Sears and in my owner's manual it doesn't give a specification. The local store's help is shall we say lacking any knowledge and calling into their automated parts direct line is terrible....can anyone please help me?

Found that part# called EP Lube on a mtd site. There is also a gear-lube called ep95. It's a high molly gear case lube, but I don't know if it's the same.

That's an MTD part number and it is discontinued, but you may be able to find a MTD dealer/service center that still has some old stock of it.

It looks like MTD used this as a transmission lube back in the late 80s. Their description of the part# is "Pennant Oil E.P. #35000". I could not find a current part number for it or any details on a suitable replacement.
