Generally, "cleaning" piston rings results in increased oil consumption and smoke.
This is what my brain wants to conclude too. It's not like there's sand stuck in the rings. There's 'stuff' helping make a seal, correct?

Correct. "Detergent" oil keeps the rings just the right amount of clean.

If Scotty likes it, then I will put it on my “avoid” list… 😏
This. Not sure how this guy has the following he does but I guess stupidity sells. Him and that Linus tech tips guy on Youtube are instant blocks whenever I see something regard them.

Oh come on now. Linus isn't everyone's cup of tea but one thing you can't label him or his following is 'stupid'.

This set is only $66 to your doorstep 😳

Sure, just like Seafoam. But once the cleaning process is done, is his premise correct? That the dirty rings were stuck in the piston. Once they are clean they can expand and seal better to reduce oil consumption and blowby?

I think this is the additive set that Toyota Dealers were stocking and recommending to drivers who had the oil consumption problem with the 4 cylinder engines. It is no secret that Scotty likes Toyotas so that is probably how he was made aware of this product. Maybe a BITOG member who frequents a Toyota Dealership can verify what I am saying is true.

I heard from a reliable source, that whenever something he makes gets posted on here he makes money. Whether you like him or not, he gets paid.,,,
I bet that's the case, and he's laughing every time he gets a hit from this site which is ringing his cash register with found money. I seriously doubt he's a sponsor here.
