I reposted a YouTube of Pat Boone singing Smoke on the Wada (his pronunciation). Wore black leather. Disturbing but hillarious. Was bombarded with pitches to buy Pat Boone merchandise for months. I just noticed a lot of Scotty Kilmer in my YouTube feed. Dear Google. I was joking. Stop it.

Every manufacturer has had some bad transmissions. GM included.

Sure they do, but in general, the transmissions in the video, 6L 8L and 10L transmissions from GM are quite good. Not ZF good but certainly good enough. Being sold in nearly 1 million units a year you do hear some issues. Scotty also spreads incorrect information about how the trucks downgraded because 10 speeds had problems. Totally false. You can order a Sierra with a 6 speed, 8 speed or 10 speed based on trim and options. A decision most likely made based on supply chain constraints. I imagine GM simply cannot make enough 10 speeds to equip every tahoe, suburban, pickup, van, camaro, ect that uses those transmissions.

Another note, When/If you need a new transmission for your truck/suv or whatever, the GM trans will cost significantly less and be much more available than a ZF, Aisin, ect.

He's makes his money off you tube, it's irrelevant what he says because like a supermarket tabloid, he spews garbage. If you want to watch someone who actually knows something about auto repair, check out South Main Auto and Eric O.

Exactly! clinebarger and Trav off the top of my head are some of the most competent techs I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with.
