Schoolyard bullying - who's the bully ?

We scuffled all through school. When I got glasses in second grade, the kids on the bus called me 4 eyes. Set me off every time. When I got too rowdy the bus driver would put me off the bus. My one try at bullying got my first broken nose. After that it was self defense only . I didnt start stuff but, I didnt back away either.

Bullys are all talk. I've seen this type of thing many times. They're only tough when they outnumber the victim, otherwise they ignore them.

It's hilarious that some 85 lbs kid thinks he can beat up a 140 lbs kid. Hopefully he learned his lesson this time. That fat kid could have sent him to the hospital if he hadn't shown that much restraint.

I looked this case up on the Internet.

The bully is a guy named Ritchard Gale, (this is the spelling reported) and his Mom is named Tina.

The recording speaks for itself. The kid who got punched is defending himself and is outnumbered by at least three to one.

The bigger kid who is getting bullied is a guy named Casey Heynes.

Tina is demanding that the bullied kid APOLOGIZE for fighting back. It turns out that the bullied kid is concerned about retaliation--apparently the smaller kid's friends are making violent threats and have done so in the past for years.

It is obvious to me that Casey is being confronted by gang bangers. As you note, another gang member was filming, and a third, bigger and taller than the victim, came up to threaten Casey.

Despite this incident being overseas in Australia, they are just like the gang bangers in the USA. And it is clear that Tina is either a very dysfunctional parent or is in fact part of the gang herself. We see that also in the States; multi-generational gangs. I think that Casey is a hero, that the kid who got slammed was taught a leasson, and that Tina is a despicable person.

Did the kid report the continuous bullying to the state run school, and what did said school with a "no touch" policy do to prevent this?

Like my nephew's high dollar private school where the 16 year olds ran around the playing fields crash tackling the 12 years olds....all part of the culture apparently.

Exactly what happens to me, friend to some extend, but more like keeping you in check or buy you off just in case you are going to be more trouble.

That doesn't means that there's no damage psychologically, and it is not going to be good friends, just "we're cool" friends.

If you notice, YouTube removed the latest version of the video. The reason why is that they do not want to deal with the issue. It is cowardice like that that allows such bullying to continue.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Nice. YouTube pulled the video because, as they put it, it promoted "hate speech". That self-defense should now be considered the promotion of hate only proves how far the PC vermin have dragged down the human race.

Did they keep your nephew there, or did they choose to put him in a different school?

Nope, they kept him there so that he can have his tie and old boy's network..you know how it is.

My mother's friend pulled her son out of the school 'though, after 2 months of relentless bullying. School reckons it's not responsible for what happens on the school bus (Public transport, but allocated solely to that school on pick up and drive home times)

Legally, they probably have a point, but there should be punishment after the kids got off the bus.

Of course, the government paid bus driver would have to cooperate...

They are in a dedicated bus for their school, and in school uniform...

Govt paid bus drivers are continually complaining.

When I was at school, the bus Co. refused to service our run for a week due to kids letting off fire crackers in the bus. School willingly sent home letters to parents, informing them of the issue, and that the service was withdrawn...sort it out.

I actually "failed' my interview to the school in question in the day, as they didn't appreciate me (the customer), questioning them on their science and maths programmes, when it was supposed to be them interviewing me...then tried to intimidate me with unless MY attitude improved, I would not be considered further...

No loss, went to the bully free state school, and graduated in top 4% of the state, and ended up in one of the top 3 engineering schools - best for practical engineers, year ahead of us was doing FE on boeing cargo doors.

The government paid bus driver in my public school year took notes of what's going on and became a witness who testify against the trouble maker on the bus, who later got detention and parent notification for what happen.

In private school, as long as your parent's contribution is huge, they turn a blind eye unless you cause major major problem that can land the school in a civil right or equivalent scale lawsuit.

Look at Meg Whitman's son in Princeton, and how he got thrown out of the eating club and the dorm named after his family for the trouble he caused, but not kicked out of the school.

Billionaire Bad Boys Club: Meg Whitman's Son's Arrest for Beating Up a GirlThis wasn't Griff's only brush with trouble. The Blue Chalk Cafe brawl occurred after his sophomore year at Princeton. Though he originally member of the class of 2008, he ended up graduating in 2009 after a year-long disciplinary probation, classmates say. Griff's disciplinary problems allegedly resulted in the university banning him from living on campus—an ironic punishment given that, at the same time, Princeton was using a $30 million donation from Meg Whitman to build splashy residential living complex Whitman College. And both Griff and his younger brother William earned reputations on campus for using their "billionaire" status to act inappropriately as they navigated Princeton's boozy eating club scene.

It looks like he purposely slammed him in a way so he wouldn't slammed him head first...

Picked the kid up, slammed him, then went to walk away.

Freakin' do-gooders on the morning news talking about him throwing a smaller, younger kid, psychologists telling of a dangerous new trend, that kids seeing it might want to emulate.

Got no problem with him being suspended under our state's "No touch" policy...but for the do gooders to be blaming him for the initiation of proceedings with a bunch of kids is going too far.

If I were rich, I would give that kid money to pay 100% of his college tuition and free classes at a martial arts school.

In my high school there was a kid who was apparently bullied for some length of time. He later came to school with a hunting rifle looking for the one who tormented him all those years. From what I hear, he thought he found his target and shot him. Then went up to him only to find he got the wrong guy, but he went on to kill his old girlfriend and more.

The guy who was shot worked with me for some time and said he didn't hold a grudge and forgave the attacker. I guess he understood how it was to be bullied.

All the sorry parents that encourage bullying behavior should see what it can do to a person. It is not just 'kids being kids'. Kids being kids is playing baseball and riding bicycles. I don't know what bullies become as adults.

My personal experience told me most bullies I know turn into alcoholics once they couldn't find people to bully after they grow up and become depressed.

The only thing you're worried about with Google and Youtube is "political correctness"?
