I find it interesting when people talk about extended oil intervals and no one talks about a proper oil filter that will handle a 10k plus OCI.

Also, if the van in question is going through a quart of oil every 1k miles, and you go 10-12k between OCIs, haven't you gone through 10 quarts of oil, thereby always adding fresh oil and adds to the mix?

I decided to try out Schaeffer for my next oil change. (I had been running GC, but GC is unavailable right now.) The Schaeffer website lists only one Schaeffer Oil dealer for the Portland (Oregon) area, so I drove over to the storefront at SE Foster Road and 111th Avenue.

The store's only window sign is a neon Budweiser beer logo. Schaeffer Supreme 7000 was on display, all right, there on the shelf next to the Doritos and the Twinkies.
