Just curious if anyone uses Schaeffer's in their motorcycle? They have a number of oils which look like they'd perform well in this application. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything usuing the search function here.
Anyone aware of a motorcycle UOA on Schaeffer oil?

I'm using Penn-Grade 1 20w50 in my 07 Sportster.

G-MAN,
Any update? IIRC, you said you were pretty busy and weren't getting too many miles on the Sporty. I've put 5400 on ours since June, the first 1000 on factory-fill and the rest on Mobil 1 V-Twin.

I've put about 1200 miles on mine since June. The Brad Penn oil still looks green when you wipe the dipstick off.

I'd like to see a UOA on that Brad Penn if you get the chance. Just to see how it compares to M1 V-Twin, Redline HD, etc. I Never heard of BP until you mentioned it earlier in another post. It's not a motorcycle oil is it?

It's not a MC oil per se, though Brad Penn does recommend it for use in bikes calling for 20w50. You can read more about it here:

Just checked it out. I like that it's 100% American made and that it is great for flat tappet engines.

last week local HD shop had a 30% off sale.I bought syn3 and filter for my 04 flh's next oil change,Ill will do a uoa on this oil to see how it compares to other v twin oils.

They'd have to have atleast a 75% off sale for me to buy Syn3. Overpriced and underperforming oil.

Speaking of Schaeffers.... I have been running Schaeffer 267 80-90 synthetic in my 05 FLSTC transmission with no problems. Not sure if 80-90 is the "right" thing to use because the manual just specs a H-D number. I know synthetic 20-50 is recommended.

You are way better off IMO with 80w90 in a trans versus 20w50

Isn't Citgo making Syn3 for Harley. If so I would not buy it. Don't want to take the chance that I am lining Hugo Chavez's pockets.

Yes, they do, and the money goes directly to Chavez since he owns the state-run oil production facilities.

Brad Penn is 100% made from Penn Grade crude pumped from wells in PA, NY, OH, and WV. It's the only oil I know of that is 100% US made from the wellhead to the bottle.
