Wondering which one would be best. Been using AMSOIL 5w30 or 0w30 as well as Redline 5w30 but wanted to switch to Schaeffer. I have a 2004 Volvo S60 R, 2.5L turbo with 90,000 miles. Volvo manual recommends 5w30 but Volvo Europe their Volvo VDS, VDS-2 and VDS-3 recommend either the Schaeffer 7000 15W40 or 9000 5w40. Any thoughts?

Personally, in a turbo, I'd use the 5W-40. Very stout oil that can handle aything thrown at it here - fuel dilution, high turbo heat, high revs...a BIT better than the 5w30 can.
Just gives a bit more 'margin' to be safe with. Many will disagree with me, and i have no real experience with turbos, so it's just MHO.....

Well not a huge fan of Schaffers oils used to be! If I was going to use their product in a turbo diesel car I would go with their 5W40. It is a good product. DO a used oil analysis though so we can see what we see.
I'd go with the 5w40 in that engine, Schaeffer's makes a great oils.
