I'm loving the Schaeffer's. Car will spend the rest of it's days on it.

Refilled with 5 more qts of Schaeffer's and a new Pure One.

Tossed Purolator air filter for a much better fitting Nissan factory filter. Hoping Silicon and Sodium drop as a result.

Thanks, REDDOG

Wow, those are some good looking numbers. It looks like this rig likes their oil

hate2work,

Thanks. I'll give Nissan some credit too, but it does seem pretty happy on the Schaeffer's. That's good because I've got enough Schaeffer's and Pure One's stocked up to put alot of digits on the odometer.

Schaeffer's makes darn good oil! Speaking of which, time for me to get more...

Could have run that out another 2000 miles or so, based on the TBN.

sciphi,

I shoot for 7500 mi oci's-conservative enough to have plenty of wiggle room in case it lands during a busy period where I can't fit a change in. This one ended up a little shorter. I agree, oil could have gone longer.

Do you use 7000 or 9000?

Great combo oil to engine, dont change a thing. I got similar results on a beat on Spec V with the same engine and RP, which is about 1/3 more expensive.

Nice run, man. +1 on the better fitting oem AF. 7500 oci looks good, no need to push the tbn.

Oddly, one of the few times I agree with FZ1. Given your frequent flier mileage, I would have expected more. TAN would tell more here. I would have expected 10k+ to be a walk in the park.

Great showing though.

Thanks to all for the feedback!

Gary,

I agree-after seeing this oil go longer in other vehicles with tougher conditions it makes me wonder why this engine is so hard on the TBN with so many highway miles. Don't know. I'm trying a little Neutra in the fuel this interval to see if that changes anything. I may have a Dyson Analysis done in the near future.

This I've seen with something like GC. Some engines it's a 7500mile/6 month oil ..others it can manage 10-12k. I never quite saw the pattern in commonality ..but really didn't dwell on it too long with other distractions taking the front burner.

It's like results from Bill in Utah. One would figure, given his annual mileage profile, that he would be an extended type without even using anything fancy ..but he's managed to fall either into oddities in vehicle selection (out of some obscure random chance thing) ..or, and equally as odd in random chance collisions, manages to subject them to just the right service that renders anything beyond his 5k cheap oil routine useless.
