looks like Honeywell will be providing the new oem filters for subaru, starting in the very near future. Watch the price go up too... Honda Canada wanted $11 for each one of those [censored] Honeywell filters. Sorry, I know, they do a job, blah, blah, blah. But we all know they are a cheaply made filter when compared to pretty much everything else.

Talk about a downgrade from the black toyo roki... start stocking up now people before the end of the world

Yes they do and they will do it just fine. They will be made to Subaru's specs and the cars will continue to perform like always.

No, it can't be!! Fram is the devil!

/me heads to dealer in the morning to buy out their remaining stock

They will work, but id rather go to NAPA, or a auto parts store, get a Wix or purolator at half the price from the dealer.

11 dollars for a FRAM?????? Dear GOD! That's getting close to what I paid for my Donaldson SYNTEQ filters! Ridiculous!

you can't find better filters in Canada than the $7 subaru was charging for the toyo roki. We don't get the discount prices y'all get down south. Napa wants $10/napa-gold and the cheapest purolator I can find is the rebranded purolator (not the pureone) in Quaker State form for $7 Canadian Tire.

I suppose I could order a bunch of wix filters from fleet filter and pay the shipping... would probably come out to about the same price as I was paying for the toyo roki.

Yes, I'm being picky... but that's why I'm here right? Otherwise we would all drop our cars off at the dealer and let them have their way and be none the wiser

Correct, $11/filter from Spinelli Honda in Montreal. Hence why I refused to use Honda oem filters for my two hondas. Forget for a moment that they were frams, but $11?? They probably made $10/filter profit on each one of those

The Ford filters are/were cheap the last time I checked and they are either Purolator or WIX (can't remember which in Canada; I know they are Purolator in the US) might be another place to check.

Honda had toyo roki filters. You may be able to find them and it will work with most honda engines. The filter was made for the Honda S2000, don't remember the part number off the top of my head.

but fit in my both my h22 and our old b20.

Top notch filters. I wonder if Subaru has any filters to fit our honda :)

and Yes filters in Canada are expensive, I ordered my Wix's through Amsoil for the RDX and it was about 7-8 bucks per a filter. Napa gold was around 11-12 (thats with CAA discounts!)

I just called Subaru today to get a few of the current toyo roki filters, and they priced them at $15.73

I could of sworn I paid $7 and change last time. Looks like the parts guy charged me the price for the basic (purolator/white) subie filter by mistake.

I'm checking out fleetfilter's pricing and shipping costs to see what they come out to. Otherwise, I'll probably go with the oem subie white filter made by purolator for $7.

Theres a guy on subaruforester.org (Hodges Subaru) who bought 2500 or so (whatever Subaru had left) of the Tokyo Roki filters and was selling them off.
Might have some left?

I was thinking of using the same EaO for a couple of changes to justify the price. I remember a thread last year where Terry D said the EaO seems to filter better as your miles get higher.. therefore allowing it to stay longer. I used to change the EaO in my crv once a year and the oil twice a year with xlm. I thought that was an outstanding schedule. With my stash of PP, I am thinking of going back to that schedule, replacing the xlm with PP.

Thanks for the reminder sprintman.. funny how you forget things and start exploring different (less ideal) paths
