I was comeing home from PetSmart with the wife and kids. What do I see ahead of me a Saturn. Now seeing a Saturn is not that odd as I live in GM country. What was odd what the rear bumper, lisence plate, tail light and trunk. If you took a gum drop and turned it upside down made it about 4 1/2 feet wide at the top of the liscence plate and tapering to about 1 1/2 feet wide right were the exhaust tip exits you have the general shape. It was covered in black soot so thickly that it totaly obsecured the liscence plate and part of the tail ligts. It was feathered at it's edges. Their did not appear to be any smoke comeing from the tail pipe at the slow speeds we were going at. THe only thing that was readable ont he back of this saturn was the crome V6 emblem and even that was dificult to see. We were stoped at a red light and he was right in front of me and I could not read the plate. I could smell the oil comeing out the pipe though. I have never seen a Saturn that was this bad before. I would hate to see what the insideof this engine must look like!!!

I saw some Nissan Sentra that looked the same way a few years ago. It was smoking so bad there were soot stains on the bumper.

In general, though, I rarely see smokers around here because they will not pass the emissions test.

Michigan does not have mandatory emmission testing and we have a bunch of smokers here! I see at least one smoker a week but it is usualy an old Chrysler Minvan, Chrysler K-Car,old Chevy or Ford pickup, or a NorthStar equiped Cadilac. I have never seen a Saturn that was that bad ever. THeir is one white Cadilac in town that the whole back end is black and it looks like a military smoke generator on a tank. The rest of the Cadilac looks like it just rolled off the show room floor.

Hey now, don't diss the KCars!

Not all of us run them into the ground, someof us take great care of our engines. My 92 Daytona with 184K on the original engine doesnt smoke at all. She has a minor front seal leak(half quart every 1000 miles), but I just don't feel like pulling belts off when its this cold outside

Worst smokers I see here in pittsburgh are old toyotas. Say one the other day where I wasnt sure if it was oil or they were giving it the Seafoam special. Then when I creeped up behind it in traffic, I knew it was oil. Man did my car stink for a while inside.
