Saw a new Corvette the other night.

My friend has been trying to buy one of the new mid engine Vettes but all the dealers were marking them up $40K
Ouch...
Weren't these cars supposed to start at $60 or $70K ?

Corvettes will do that to you... Regardless if it is in the budget. Don't ask me how I know.
You either like or hate them, there’s no in between. I think they look like a cheap Ferrari copy, the new camaro is sexy af tho. There’s a video on the daily driven exotics channel when cops were called on the red corvette and told it’s a Ferrari.

There ya go. There were probably 10 or 12 of these cars at C&C Saturday and all but one guy looked just like that. I even overheard one guy ask another what his vin # was. Then they geeked out over that for a few minutes.
But it's cool. I'm not hating at all....even if it sounds like I am.

Ya. They look really good and I think the designers did a good job of keeping corvette design themes without going all stupid like BMW. I saw a white one last weekend. Very nice.
I also like the prev gen vette and the original. The rest in between..Meh. Always reminded me of a 1980's era 300Z or Firebird/Camaro.

I love these new sports cars with so much power that if you floor them at any speed under 60mph they just stand up and do a 180 into the curb. Perfect for a retiree or your local "Joe-y, baby!".
Maybe that's why they just parade around at 35MPH.
I suppose the new Vette, now that i thing about it a bit really is a wannabe "something else",
and not really a Vette but in nameplate. No heritage. Bloodline severed.
But that just may be an old guy talking.
On another note, for AFFORDABLE performance, is Chevy killing off the Camaro for 2022?
I have yet to drive a LT-1 But I sat in a base one. Could be out the door for mid 30's with a stick and active only.

Even after the C3 Sharks people complained Chevy was trying to turn the Vette into a Porsche with the C4.

See Mildred ! … they messed up the 50/50 weight balance … I told them not tooI guess some shops are having issues lifting these for one reason or another...
I went to the Ron Fellows/Spring Mountain Corvette owners school in Nevada when I bought my C7. GM subsidizes it and it was a good time. There were about 15 of us in the class and about half reminded of that guy in the picture. I was 36 at the time and the youngest guy in there by about 15 years. The instructors were telling me it’s nice to get some young blood in the class since it’s usually old dudes. Lots of, IMO cheesy Corvette apparel being worn in my class as well. There’s definitely a certain demographic but I think the new one will bring that average age down a bit.
