This really happened, seen it all in my rear view mirror.......

At stop light, car with a clueless young woman drives up behind me texting.
(no one behind her or I would not have done this)
1) light turns green, I stay put. She is so distracted she does not notice!
2) Light turns red, she looks up, sees it red, continues to text.
3) light turns green, I stay put. She is so distracted she does not notice!
4) Light turns red, she looks up, sees it red, continues to text.
5) Light turns green, I finally went (another car came up behind her)
and she was still there after I was a full block away!

TOTALLY DISTRACTED!

I learned to drive in Houston (the horror, the horror)
Tailgaters?
Do what I call the "Houston Shuffle" .......
1) continue with a steady speed, DO NOT take your foot off the accelerator
(that would allow the rude idiot to sense you are slowing)
2) TAP your brake pedal with your left foot, just enough to light up your brake lights......
I have caused so many hot coffee while driving spills doing this, I lost count!

You must have a lot of time on your hands and I see you're easily amused.

People who drive across and through the parking spaces in parking lots.
I have seen way too many near misses from this. My wife almost got killed a few years ago when she was just about to open the passenger door on my truck when a car came through the single open space next to us. Lucky she didn't try to exit a split second earlier.

Also can't stand people who see you backing out of a space, you're halfway out and they race to drive around you before you get much further back. Not even a horn blow. Just a mad dash to see if they can beat you.

Your head needs to be on a 360 degree swivel nowadays in parking lots.

Also using a hand held phone while driving and texting while driving both tick me off big time!!

There is a left turn with a fairly short arrow on my way home that backs up pretty badly between 5-6pm. I was the second in line behind a big SUV last fall, and the light turned green with no movement by it for 3-4 seconds. I gave a quick shot with my horn because I thought more than enough time had passed and there was a long line behind us...I could see the woman driving giving me a glare of death in the rear view for a few seconds before she VERY slowly pulled forward. I'm sure a dozen people missed that light because of that witch. Went through a passing zone and couldn't get around her due to oncoming traffic.

We get to another light about a mile and a half down and we end up in the same positions at the red. She does the EXACT same thing again, waits several seconds at the green and then pulls out VERY slowly. In about half a mile, we reached a passing zone with nobody coming and I just plain blew past her...she floored it to try to keep me from passing, nice try with your bloated, underpowered ride! Once I got around her, she flashed her brights at me and gave me the finger emphatically before turning off on her street in about 1/4 mile.

The great thing was that I recognized her after I passed her! Mother of a girl my daughter used to be friends with...super arrogant, self-important, and full of herself. She "helped" with some after school activities my wife and daughter took part in and spent all her time trying to get special treatment for her kid while fighting with the other parents and insulting their kids. I was so happy to blow by her and tick her off!! I was completely sure it was her after she turned off on the street I knew she lived on.

Some states (I know mine GA does) have a law against using the left lane as your personal lane. The law is phrased as it's illegal to impede the flow of traffic.

I see it around Atlanta all the time. Especially commuting down I75 into downtown. There's a left lane exit off I75 to get onto I85 north and people will sit in the left lane on I75 for miles just because they know they're going to take that exit.

Driving in Houston is dangerous. 610 Loop since the highway is on grade and crosses every major road by way of an elevated bridge. These bridges prevent you from seeing traffic ahead since traffic could be stopped on the other side.

Turn signals. Come on, we've had them for decades, use them correctly !

Tailgating, especially at night.

Actually stopping at stop signs and red lights (yes, even if you're turning right)

Just simple stuff - Oh and how about enforcing the rules like these ?

I'm with you there. You get to a 4 way stop before me, you ARE going first. I will put it in park, and play an entire game of Monopoly, while waiting for you to go. Keep flashing your lights or waving me to go, they mean nothing. You got there first, you can go first.

Power outages/malfunctioning traffic lights are where you get to see the finest window lickers in society. I've seen some BAD accidents, that I flat out refuse to go through them now. I will make a right turn and navigate myself around that intersection, rather than go through it. One incident that sticks in my head, as a patrol officer I was dispatched to an intersection that the lights were not working. As soon as I pulled up, and stepped out of the car, a car going 55 mph east bound, slams into a car going 55 mph north bound. These two idiots saw an intersection with broken traffic lights, and in their infinite wisdom thought, what the heck, lets floor it without looking and hope for the best. On this occasion, idiot A met idiot B and it was not pretty.

A guy did that to me last week. I had the right of way, he threw his blinker on and proceeded to try to run me off the road. Didn't work for him as I refused to budge and he was the one driving on the shoulder. Now normally I will be nice and let you over, but if you try to muscle your way in or ram me off the road, I'll play your game buddy.

I think the highways are relatively good

There are many common infractions I see daily, but people who speed through neighborhoods [censored] me off the most. I've had people fly past me when I stop at stop signs, because 40 mph in neighborhood seem more appropriate to them. The younger, rasher part of me wants me to follow them to wherever they're going and give them a piece of my mind. It's the same part hat thinks that they simply need to be lectured to finally "get it", as if common sense simply needs to be explained to be understood.

#1.Construction coming up merge left/right. So 99.5% of us do just that.......but there are those few who keep going past all the correct mergers and then try at the last moment to cut in. "You-will-not-get-in-front-of-me." You are a person who thinks he's more special than all us second rate people. Now that being said, if you have a medical emergency etc, your flashers should be on and be blinking your headlights. I'll make sure you get in.

#2.Every time I meet a head down texting knothead.....at the last second blast the horn with my arms up covering my face as if to avoid the impending crash.

I'm looking for a LOUD FOG HORN to really scare the B-Jesus out of them.

Here's one from me..people who stop wayy too close to you in city traffic, especially super annoying if you're driving a manual and you're stopped on a hill. I'll also add people who don't know how to use a merge lane! Put your foot it in Grandma/Grandpa! They'll do like 60 kmh in the merge lane til they hit the actual highway THEN accelerate to highway speed which is usually 110 kmh. Even my old 3 cylinder diesel Smartcar with all of 48 horsepower could most often get to highway cruising speed in a merge lane

Theres a reason for the 3 second rule. I have several tons of explosives on board and those orange signs are there to warn of this. Give me the room I am trying to maintain to keep safe. I will be completing a 8 hour safety course tonight. I can't stop like your 2 ton car when I'm up to 40 tons. I've done this job for 30 plus years without a accident.

This.
Pass left, drive right.
Amazing how many people can't seem to get this.
After dark, people are especially prone to cruising in the left lane.
After a bit, I'll flash them a couple of times.
If that doesn't seem to have any effect, I'll just pass them on the right.
Silly driving habits based upon a silly lack personal responsibility.
