Here is a brain teaser for yens. (Letting my PGH PA slang shine through).

How many Revolutions Per Year?

In one complete revolution around our sun, 365 + 1/4 days, (a complete 360 degree elliptical path), how many times does the planet Earth rotate around its pole of rotation?

I could think of some things that could be rotated on, but then I would not be allowed here anymore, so in all clarity and political correctness,,,I could care less on revolutions unless its the rpm and wine of mine engines leaving u in the dust.aamen brothers and sisters,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I love this job........

And you run and you run
To catch up with the Sun
But, it's sinking

Racing around
To come up behind you again

Well the Sun is the same
In a relative way
But your older

Shorter of breath
And one day closer to death

Hey jim, i grew up in Johnstown PA and since moved to NC. You will not hear yens guys, down here. It has been years since i heard that. Anyway, im going 366.25. One extra due to the earths actual orbit around the sun once.
Johnny, where did 8766 come from?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_rotation
post the answer here so i don't have to read thru the entire "rotation period" section

I mixed some 10% jack with 90% turkey and I dont remember much after that,,so I called it 10w90whocares mix. lol,,,i really need to go to bed now...............

Back in my younger and not so smart days, I drank a lot of George Dickel Tennessee Sipping Whiskey.

Well, I'm not good at math and have no clue about the earths rotation around anything or how it does it. Not knowing anything about poles or axis, I did know the earth spins/revolves so all of it sees the sun every 24 hours. Now I figured someone knew something I did not and figured while the earth was spinning it was also in orbit. So I multiplied the 365.25 X 24 and came up with my 8766.

It's one of those things I never cared about in school because I never figured I would need to know the answer someday. Who knew that joining BITOG would prove me wrong.

Well when you factor in the rotation of the galaxy, and the movement of galaxy through space time, and the number of finite infinite improbability wormholes that we pass through at any given moment in time we can thus conclude that the earth in fact does NOT rotate on it's axis, but in fact flops up and down mostly harmlessly on the space time continuum like a babel fish. True Story.

That would make for some interesting driving...or floating as it were.
