RP filter ok to run 2 6k intervals on?

i was wondering if there is any benefit of running my royal purple 20-820 filter for 2 6k oci as opposed to just replacing the filter with an FL820s after 6k miles. opinions?

RP at 12k miles Vs. Fl820s at 6k is the question?

Sure. I'd do it.
I have a RP filter on my Wife's Xterra, its tiny, and I plan on running it 2 6k intervals.

The thing is designed for long intervals on synthetic oils.

Just make sure you aren't breaking in an engine or have something that is sludged and you should be good.

Its on my 2012, so no issues like that. truck has 10k miles on it. i will however buy a Fl820s to have the recipt for warranty requirements, but i will use the fl820s on one of the company f150s or later on in the trucks life when i run out of the RP filters.

Their (RP/Champ) filters are high quality. Used in an application like yours, it can easily do the two 6k intervals and filters get more efficient with use so it is a win-win.

ok great, i know the Fl820s is a good filter, but from what i have read, the RP is one of the best if not the best filter money can buy.

i figured i could get twice the use out of it and still provide better filtering, for about the same money in the end.

Anyone ever take pics of a disected RP filter?

The RP oil filter is the same as the M1 and K&N filters. They can all easily do 15k intervals with ease.

They are not the same.

The Mobil 1 and K&N are regular cellulose media. The RP is full-synthetic, wire backed media.

M1 and likely K&N use a celulose/synthetic blended media. Though still not the same as RP's wire backed synthetic cloth.

Has anyone ever got the efficiency numbers on teh RP? Are they at a higher micron rating like the other synthetic filters?

RPs are 99.7% @ 25 um... same as the new Puro Synthetic.

I'm currently running a NAPA Premium synthetic filter on our '08 Impala I'm on the second run with the OLM the first run took me to 6700 miles so ill have over 12k when done.

these type filters RP,EAO,NP or any syn filter is designed for longer intervals AND flow extremely well doing it.
