Well folks.. It appears that I wrote my review a bit too soon.
I would like to take back a few of the negative things I said in the above post/pictures....
When I put royal purple in.. it was purple.. a few miles later it turned clear. Clearer than any other oil I have ever used (and believe me - i've had my share)
well..it remained clear.... but not even 1,000 miles later... it is almost black. i estimate in another 1,000 it will be pitch black.
I can only assume this is due to the detergents. I have ran Motorcraft semi syn. for thousands and thousands of miles and the oil came out real light and brown.
I am glad i used the over priced K&N filter for this application.
I would like to recant the statement that I would never use royal purple again. I very well might. No other oil, even when first switching to synthetic (in other cars) has done this.
Look at the above pictures - there is no varnish inside the valve cover. the dipstick is pure silver. I never knew the engine had much to clean off inside of it.
at 117xxx miles - I feel that the royal purple was a very well deserved treat for my engine.
