RockAuto order - very satisfied with packaging!

OP, thanks for sharing your good experience. Those pads and rotors should serve you well.

It's their shipping charges that annoy me.
Can you ship stuff cheaper? Why does it annoy you?

Product pricing is usually very good. I would rather see the prices minimized without an adder for "free" shipping. And the parts are coming out of legit channels, and not the wild west of Amazon and Ebay.

If I order two parts and one is not available in the closest warehouse they ship one from the closest warehouse and one from another warehouse that has the part. You pay for both shipping charges.

Most online retailers have negotiated dirt cheap shipping with UPS, USPS and Fedex and ship for free or free on $100 order, something like that.

RockAuto has chosen not to do that or has but makes a profit on the shipping charges.

I haven’t ordered from RA since last December when I had a plethora of orders that came to me with either wrong parts, used parts, or damaged parts due to lack of packaging (all packages came from the United Auto Supply warehouse in NJ). Today I received the rear brake pads and rotors for my Mustang and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the warehouse in Texas took great care with my stuff! This should be how’s it’s done across the board. Very happy once again with RA. =)

Shipped from Syracuse, NY?

I can't say I've had any damaged parts from Rockauto, but often their package is very "iffy." Like stuffing heavy parts (rotors, control arms, etc.) with more delicate parts and just stuffing the box with bagged air. Fortunately everything has survived so far. I've had very few bad experiences with them, my only complaint is that when there is a problem, there's no one to call. You have to go through the online interrogation and answer all the questions just right to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
I order so much from Rock Auto as they carry parts, others don't or for significantly less.

Recently ordering their wholesale closeout items, I have had two shipments arrive damaged and poorly packaged.

victim = 1 oil filter with a HUGE dent, and the Fel-Pro valve cover gasket packaging came undone (or they shipped it that way), I wouldn't expect much on wholesale closeout shipments, but GREAT prices.

shipping charges are a minor annoyance compared to their lack of customer service, which makes me purchase a few other items ahead of time or buy OEM Toyota (which seems to be priced similarly to part-store items when buying OEM Toyota online)

from Rock Auto, immediately check your packages and report any issues.
