Those are the various brands made by Premium Guard that Rock Auto sells afaik.... So it should be the same filter with a Premium Guard, Pronto or Parts Plus sticker on it but they will all be that Extended model which you show on your photo.

Also if you click on the info link for that filter.. you will see the alternate model numbers at the top left of that page which are PO2500EX which is Pronto, and the PH500EX which is Parts Plus.
Thank you again, I will probably order a Wix to go along with it, since I never used them Chinese filters before..

You really shouldn't talk like that on this forum, I'm sure there's a lot of recovering folks on this forum.. You can end up getting yourself deleted... 🤣🤣🤣

My question is a bit off topic. Help me understand what is the value of buying oil filters through RockAuto?

For my vehicle, the lowest priced filter, a Champ PH2867 is priced at $1.63. If I order one shipping is $4.99 for a unit price of $6.62.
If I order 3, shipping is $7.99 - unit price ends up being $4.30
If I order 4, shipping is $8.99 - unit price ends up being $3.87

At my local WalMart I have a couple of choices without having to buy in quantity and will cost less.
  • Fram PH7317 for $4.17 that has better performance specs and I can inspect it prior to purchase.
  • Supertech ST6607 for $3.84

Great question.

I order a lot of parts off RockAuto (don't forget the discount code!)

If you have a cart full of brake pads, spark plugs, o2 sensor, etc. etc. before you check out, go add air filter, oil filters, etc. Look for the trucking symbol next to the items. Basically, that means they ship from the same warehouse so won't cost you anything more in shipping. So, your Champ XL will indeed cost $1.63 plus tax. I'm not so lucky, mine cost $3.47....

I ordered “various manufacture” for my Nissans and they were parts plus branded filters and quite a bit undersized from what every other brand provides. Won’t order again. Probably varies by application.

Soon there will be a "PlayC&P" magazine with a centerfolds showing only filters with laser straight pleats. :D
An oil filter focused magazine might not be a bad idea (I've seen more weird stuff magazines at the local super markets). The next guy doing that might end up mistakenly become the next millionaire. Of course it has to be as valuable as any industry focused magazines with courtesy and partnership in sharing technical information, developments, and trends that is consumable to the average joe.

^^^ "Oil Filter Monthly" ... keeping the oil filter connoisseur up to date on the latest oil filter news. ;) Complete with the monthly centerfold ... but most would only look at the photos and not read the articles. 😄

I look at all those CNC machining magazines at my work office. They all seem to be in cahoots with the major industry brands with a bit of related ads sprinkled in it in page breaks between different topics. Pretty sure most that read through it just in for the machine porn from all the promotional demonstration photos etc. Of course its a very niche industry that might be very eye opening for alot of motorist like us out there that wants the best for their vehicles. As I said before, you go to car meet ups and barely anyone if no one at all talks about filtration and their performance to one another, they just go by the brands available at their local part store.

I'm in. Haven't seen a centerfold in a while. Hopefully it's like the old snap on calendars.

Never added up to me either. I guess if you need to order a part anyway it might make sense to tag some filters on but otherwise shipping cost good out the savings.
