This 3600 sized oil filter came off of an Eaton 10 speed ultra shift transmission on my 2013 Freightliner Cascadia truck. The truck had around 500k miles, but I don't know how long this filter was on. Whoever installed it used some tool to tighten it and nicked the paint in a few places. One of these nicks in combination with a few years of salty roads created a pinhole that started to leak oil. The hole was not big enough to see on the inside. Nice looking Champ made filter. Replaced it with a Prime Guard POF 195.

Interesting story about the pin hole. Good photo's & I think the Prime Guard should serve you well too. Do you plan to cut & post the Prime Guard too?

Nice photos. Thank You for cut and post.

Looks like an early iteration Champ Labs ecore with polyester end caps and a combo valve. Made in 2015. No idea how bypass valve would affect transmission, but generally speaking, not a fan of a combo valve, more so over long intervals.

Thanks for c&p.

The truck will be sold in the next month or two so I will not be replacing the Prime Guard.

Good to see that an Ecore can handle transmission fluid OK, I've used the Baldwin HPGs on ATF before, I wasn't sure regular blend media was good enough.
Eaton 10 speed ultra shift transmission is a manual transmission that a computer actuates the clutch and changes gears. It is not an automatic transmission. It uses 50 weight synthetic oil, and I guess it has an oil pump to pump the oil through the filter and a transmission cooler. Don't know anything about how much pressure or volume goes through this filter.

Thanks for that info. Is that due to the mileage when things start getting expensive on these trucks?
This truck has 651k miles on it, and no, I'm not selling it for that reason. I purchased a smaller truck and I don't need this one any more. This particular truck is in pretty good shape so it should get to 1 million miles easily. BTW, repairs on these trucks are expensive, no matter how old they are. Lol.

I bet they are quite expensive to repair. I've always thought SEMI's were awesome & wanted to be a "Truck Driver" when I was a young lad. Thanks for the details on the truck that is interesting. I'm seeing more & more one ton trucks pulling larger loads than ever before these days for hauling commercially.
