Was he blocking the plate without the ball?Ask Ray Fossee what a great guy Pete Rose was.
Oh, Ray died a few years ago.
Ray was a CREAT Catcher, before Rose plowed into him at an All Star game. Bad injury. Ray was never the same after that.
I did not forget.
He served time in federal prison for not paying income tax on his personal appearances and memorabilia sales.he belonged in jail
All the more reason not to be blocking the base path then, huh ?Yes.... it was an exhibition game with no meaning.
I'm not saying it was "out of character" for Pete. All the more reason not to be blocking the base path then, huh ?
Put people in the Hall of Fame based on their playing on the fieldWe should all know by now, great players are not always great people.

He should be put in the HOF ASAP.

It could be said, however, that Fosse was just as much a hothead as Pete Rose. He was on the DL more than once because of broken bones in his hand, caused by fighting on the field and in the locker room. He was injury prone and once missed a large part of a season because he fell at a spring training ballpark. He played until 1979 but to blame Pete Rose for all his problems doesn't tell the whole story.I'm not saying it was "out of character" for Pete.
There was just no need...
As I predicted....I've said it for a decade+ though, that "they" will never let him in while he's alive.... They'll wait until he's dead and then let him in. Vote will probably be unanimous too.
