Godspeed Captain Lovell!
He had a cameo appearance in the movie Apollo 13 as the Captain of the USS Iwo Jima.
A true American hero. He didn't get to walk on the moon, but he lived to the ripe old age of 97. God speed, Commander!

He was a cool head under pressure, that’s for sure. Sadly there are very few of the Apollo astronauts remaining. When I was a kid there were few people I looked up to more than those guys.
