hello. so i changed the oil in my 17 year old sisters car last night. she bought a 5 quart jug of valvoline from walmart. i drained the oil into my drain pan, then back into the 5 quart jug the new oil came in. same thing i always do. i give her the jug and tell her to take it back to wal mart, to the tire lube and express to recycle it. so what does she do? she takes it, with the receipt, to the customer service counter and returns it, and gets all her money back for it. it is walmart, so the fact that they accepted it didnt surprise me one single bit...

so has anyone ever done this? or know someone who did? anyone ever buy 5 quarts of uesd oil??

Never would have dreamed of doing it, but I have heard of others who have. Low lifes.

I bought a 5 qt Valvoline for a buck on Home Depot's discontinued shelf once. Thought it was a great deal....until I opened it and found it was used oil!

Since it was only a buck I didn't try to return it...figured they wouldn't believe me...but I learned to open things before I buy them.

There are people out there that intentionally do this. So the next person that buys that jug is screwed. Trying persuade Walmart the oil they bought was already used.

I thought this was about where to return the used oil for recycling. Not about somebody's sister accidentally returning the oil to Wal-Mart customer service!

Please tell your sister where and HOW to drop off used oil!

Nice morals you and your sister were brought up with - screw everyone else, just watch out for yourself.

Good job!

blond? who knows, its been years since anyone has seen her natural hair color. and to the last reply.... there was no accident about it.
after hearing about it i tried to discourage it from happening again, but as some of you may know, 17 year old females arent the most "absorbent" learners....

If you had a conscience, you'd go and fix it.

If she won't do it properly, get her to give you back the used to dispose of PROPERLY.

Laughing it off, more or less, shows you are just as bad as she is.

what do you want me to do? go to walmart, and ask to buy it back???

not happening, and if that means i dont have a conscience, screw it. dont care.
its wal mart. i could CARE LESS

Jakegday, What do you intend to do about this? A lot of people are assuming you will let it go but I don't think you actually said that in your post. What will you do?

Edit: you just answered my question. You need to go fix this mistake that your sister made. Be a man. Take responsibility. It's not wal mart that you are harming, it is the next person who buys your used oil. Would you like that to happen to you? Show some guts.

You DO have the money to do that. Do you think the money you got from cheating the store is YOUR money? What are you talking about?

what? are you serious? did you even read the original post??? i wasnt the one who did it....

and you're telling me i DO have the money?? i lost my factory job in april due to the poor economy, and even though im getting unemployment, im still struggling with the $800 a month pay cut. i do NOT have the money!

I think at the very minimum you could call the store and tell them what happened so its not on the shelf for another customer to buy.
