Reserved my VW ID.4 today - long wait ahead.

LOL! Fortunately I am in no pressing rush for a replacement car so the wait is not a deal killer for me, not to mention this will be the first new car for me that will have my name tagged to it from the factory so no sitting on the dealer lot stagnant or having other folks poking around and/or test driving it before I take delivery.
Thought you said it was $400 to get your name on a vehicle. It shows you only put down $100??

Here's the process, step 1 is the $100 deposit.

@pezzy84 - Are they selling this to you at MSRP? Does it qualify for the tax credit? I've been thinking something electric makes sense for my next car and this checks all the boxes.
As of right now assuming its at MSRP, guess I won't really know until it gets close to delivery.

Yeah still qualifies for full $7500 federal tax credit. Georgia ditched the state tax credit some time ago.

I am generally not in favor of subsidies, but if our tax dollars are gonna be used than at least the vehicle should be made in America. The Bolt, for example, is made in Korea to some extent and then finished here. That don't cut it for me. The same with the Mach-E, which is built in Mexico.

Just my 2 cents.
The Chattanooga plant will start producing the ID.4 I believe sometime next year and when that comes online there are rumors of a lesser priced ID.4 coming out around the same time.

ID4s are nice cars. Audi is coming out with their version soon, for not much more. If I remember 43k base.

I just couldn’t wait that long for a car, especially hearing the horror stories lately about people placing orders and either ETA gets messed up or the dealer hits them with a mark up. Knowing my luck it never turns out pretty.
