I need to replace a wheel stud on the Lexus. I watched the videos and they all day to remove the caliper and rotor. Why can’t I just punch it out and replace without taking these two components off?
Really depends on the vehicle. I’ve only ever had to replace a front one on a 2011 Fusion. The dust shield behind the rotor had to be cut/bent out of the way in this case. Or just fully removed, which I didn’t do. Otherwise it was super easy.

I replaced a rear wheel stud on my Camry and just had to rotate the pads/caliber out of the way. Took longer to get the car jacked up and the wheel off than to replace the stud.
They call it a tie rod remover but Toyota lists the part number as a stud press. Made the job incredibly easy on my rust belt car and it avoids having to hammer on the hub which could damage the wheel bearing.
